The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), established in 1964, is the apex governmental body responsible for promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability in India’s public administration. Its mission is to ensure that ethical conduct becomes an integral part of governance and that corruption is addressed through preventive and corrective measures.
What Is Vigilance Awareness Week?
The CVC, with the intention to strengthen their commitment to promote integrity, transparency, and accountability in India’s public administration, observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year, encouraging collective participation in the fight against corruption. The initiative aims to raise public consciousness about the need for integrity in both personal and professional spheres.
Building a Culture of Integrity
This year, Vigilance Awareness Week is being observed from October 27, 2025 to November 2, 2025 with the theme: “Culture of Integrity for Nation’s Prosperity.”
The observance highlights the importance of ethical conduct as a cornerstone of national progress. It encourages individuals and organisations to uphold transparency, accountability, and fairness in their day-to-day activities. By fostering a culture of integrity, the initiative aspires to build a society where honesty and good governance prevails.
The Integrity Pledge
As part of Vigilance Awareness Week, all citizens are invited to affirm their commitment to integrity by taking the Integrity Pledge. This pledge reflects a collective resolve to uphold the highest standards of honesty and to stand united against corruption.
The pledge reads as follows:
