The benchmark Sensex rose 0.33% to 80,498, and the broader Nifty 50 index was up 0.44% at 24,595, after softer US retail inflation and an 8-year low domestic retail inflation.
Meanwhile, Shakti Pumps (India) share price was in focus on Wednesday after securing a ₹1,037 crore order from MSEDCL for 34,720 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems under the PM KUSUM B scheme.
Shakti Pumps (India) Limited (SPIL), a prominent manufacturer of energy-efficient pumps and motors in India, announced today that it has received a significant Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). This empanelment is for the supply of 34,720 Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems (SPWPS).
The total value of this substantial empanelment is approximately ₹1,037 Crores (inclusive of GST). These solar pumping systems are designated for the entire state of Maharashtra under the “Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana/PM KUSUM B" scheme.
The Letter of Empanelment is valid for up to one year. The installation of the pumping systems is stipulated to be completed within 60 days from the date of issuance of the NTP (Notice to Proceed)/work order or JSR approval from the circle office. The scope of the order includes the design, manufacture, supply, transport, installation, testing, and commissioning of these Off-Grid DC Solar Photovoltaic Water Pumping Systems.
As of August 1, 2025, the company’s outstanding order book stood at approximately ₹1,350 crore. Under Component B, which covers off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems, the orders stand at a total of ₹618.3 crore, while Component C, covering grid-connected solar water pumping systems, amounts to ₹137.6 crore. Orders for Uganda and other domestic and export projects amounted to ₹200.7 crore.
Under the component B key projects in the order book include those from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and Maharashtra Energy Department Agency (MEDA), the Department of Agriculture in Uttar Pradesh, and other agencies such as RHDS in Rajasthan, JREDA in Jharkhand, and MID in Uttarakhand.
The Magel Tyala Saur Urja Yojana in Maharashtra (off-grid SPWPS) accounted for ₹393.4 crore. The company expects substantial order inflows in the coming months from various states.
On Wednesday, Shakti Pumps share price jumped over 7% to its intraday high of ₹ 899. As of 9:17 am IST, the share price was trading at ₹ 881.65 per share, up by 5.5%.
