AXISCADES and Indra have signed an MoU to manufacture advanced aerospace and defence systems in India. The collaboration includes local production of TACAN antennas, DME, and countermeasure systems, with potential joint development for global and DRDO-linked projects.

AXISCADES, a prominent technology solutions provider in defence, aerospace, and strategic electronics, and Indra, a European-based global leader in defence, aerospace, and strategic systems, have announced a strategic alliance aimed at boosting the production of cutting-edge systems in India. The agreement, formally a Memorandum of Understanding, was signed on June 16, 2025, at the Paris Air Show by Indra's CEO, José Vicente de los Mozos, and AXISCADES' Chairman, Dr. Sampath Ravinarayanan. The signing was also attended by Indra Chairman, Angel Escribano, and AXISCADES CEO & MD, Alfonso Martínez.
This collaboration will see Indra acquiring defence-related products and services from AXISCADES, leveraging AXISCADES' comprehensive design, development, production, and supply chain centre. A key aspect of the agreement is the manufacturing in India of several Indra solutions, including antennas for its Tactical Air Navigation Systems (TACAN), Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) that provides in-flight information to aircraft, and countermeasure systems designed to protect aircraft from potential missile attacks, such as MANPADS.
Both companies are actively exploring joint product development opportunities for both the Indian and global markets. This could involve adapting existing Indra products or creating new ones specifically tailored to meet customer needs. Furthermore, Indra and AXISCADES are evaluating collaborations in MPA Airborne Solutions and are exploring a dedicated partnership for DRDO CABS, MRMR and MMMA programs.
This partnership strengthens Indra's position in the global aerospace systems market and expands its network of alliances worldwide. For India, it contributes to enhancing the capabilities of Indian companies, building on Indra's established presence as a provider of advanced systems and technologies for the country's Armed Forces and civil air traffic management modernisation projects.
For the quarter ended March 2025, the company reported a 4.69% year-on-year increase in revenue from operations, rising to ₹268 crore from ₹256 crore in the same quarter last year. Profit after tax surged significantly to ₹31 crore, compared to ₹9 crore in March 2024, marking a 244.44% growth.
On an annual basis, revenue from operations grew by 7.96%, reaching ₹1,031 crore in FY25, up from ₹955 crore in FY24. The company’s profit after tax also saw a strong rise, doubling to ₹75 crore from ₹33 crore in the previous financial year, reflecting an annual growth of 127.27%.
