Market Closing Today - Dec 29, 2025
Share

On Monday, December 29, Indian stock market benchmarks ended in the red, as thin participation and persistent foreign outflows kept risk appetite in check.

At the closing bell, the Nifty 50 closed lower by 100.20 points, or 0.38%, at 25,942.10, while the Sensex slipped 345.91 points, or 0.41%, to settle at 84,695.54.

The benchmarks have traded in a narrow range over the last few sessions amid thin trade towards the end of the year. The 20-day average daily trading volume of Nifty 50 stocks in December was 250 million shares, down from 300 million in November.

With only a handful of trading sessions remaining in the year and no immediate catalysts in sight, the market appears to be entering a phase of uncertainty.
