The Farm Equipment Sector of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the world's leading tractor manufacturer, rolled out its 2 millionth tractor from the company’s Kandivali Plant in Mumbai, on February 27, 2013.
In a special ceremony, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. rolled out the 2 millionth tractor at a ceremony attended by workers, union representatives and officials. Mahindra's Farm Division achieved the one million tractor milestone in 2004 and has surpassed this figure to reach the 2 million mark in a short span of eight years. Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Pawan Goenka, President, Automotive & Farm Equipment Sectors, Mahindra & Mahindra said, “The journey till the roll out of the 2 millionth tractor has been challenging and exciting for us. We are happy that over the years we have been able to make a significant contribution to the lives of the Indian farmer. Going ahead we look forward to providing more value for them not only through our tractors but our agri based services as well, enabling them to Rise”.
Mahindra is the largest tractor manufacturer in the world in terms of volume and has been the market leader in India for 29 years. Mahindra manufactures and sells tractor models from 15 HP to 90 HP across 40 plus countries on six continents. Mahindra's Farm Division has manufacturing facilities across five locations in India and 10 locations outside India.
