On April 30, 2026, Hindustan Unilever Limited announced its earnings for the quarter and fiscal year ending March 31, 2026. The numbers are consistent with those of a company whose performance is gaining steam, with the March quarter being the strongest in three years in volume terms.
Revenue during the quarter amounted to ₹16,207 crore, a YoY rise of 8%. Underlying Sales Growth was at 7%, led by Underlying Volume Growth of 6%. These figures were emphasized by Hindustan Unilever Limited as their best growth in 12 quarters, pointing towards the recovery of consumer sentiment following a period of weak volume growth.
The EBITDA for the quarter was ₹3,841 crore, with YoY growth of 6%, and an EBITDA margin of 23.7%, up 40 bps sequentially. PAT Bei was ₹2,711 crore, growing by 4% YoY. Reported PAT, including proceeds from the divestiture of their stake in Nutritionalab Pvt. Ltd., totaled ₹3,002 crore, registering a YoY increase of 20%.
The Home Care segment was clearly the star performer, growing 9%, which is its best performance in 11 quarters. Fabric Wash experienced double-digit growth, whereas Household Care witnessed high single-digit growth. The liquids product range continued to deliver solid double-digit growth, and powders and bars improved as well.
In the Beauty and Wellbeing segment, 8% USG was witnessed with mid-single digit volume growth. Hair Care performed very well, exhibiting double-digit growth and thereby maintaining its dominant position. Premium Skin Care and Colour Cosmetics performed well, but mass skin care lagged behind. Lakmé Sun Gel, priced at ₹10, and Vaseline Cloud Soft, which came with SPF 50, were launched by the firm in this quarter as part of their sunscreen range. Both Vaseline and Sunsilk crossed the ₹1,000-crore turnover mark in FY26, thereby taking HUL’s total brand count to cross this mark to 20.
Personal Care grew 5% during the quarter. Skin Cleansing delivered high single-digit growth led by Dove and Lux, while Premium Soaps and Bodywash recorded double-digit competitive growth. Oral Care saw low single-digit growth, with new launches including Lifebuoy Ice Bath and Pepsodent Sensitive Care.
Foods delivered 5% USG with high single-digit volume growth. Coffee continued its strong double-digit performance, while Lifestyle Nutrition (Horlicks and Boost) also posted double-digit growth. The Horlicks brand was extended into the protein segment with the launch of Horlicks Protein Ready-to-Drink in four flavours. Tea recorded low single-digit volume growth, with Lipton Green Tea relaunched during the quarter.
For the full year ended 31 March 2026, consolidated turnover stood at ₹63,763 crore, compared to ₹60,573 crore in FY25, marking a growth of around 5%. Full-year USG was 5%, supported by 4% UVG. EBITDA margin for the year was 23.6%, at the higher end of the company’s guidance range.
Consolidated Profit Before Tax was ₹13,812 crore, down from ₹14,428 crore in the previous year. The decline was due to higher depreciation of ₹1,333 crore (versus ₹1,253 crore in FY25) and exceptional losses of ₹235 crore, compared to a gain of ₹347 crore last year. Tax provision stood at ₹3,160 crore, lower than ₹3,748 crore in FY25. Consolidated PAT from continuing operations was ₹10,652 crore, broadly flat compared to ₹10,680 crore in FY25.
PAT before exceptional items for the year was ₹10,324 crore, while reported PAT stood at ₹10,652 crore.
The Board has recommended a final dividend of ₹22 per share for FY26, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM. The record date is set as 23 June 2026. Along with the interim dividend of ₹19 per share paid in November 2025, the total dividend for the year stands at ₹41 per share (face value Re 1), translating into a total payout of ₹9,633 crore.
