Indicators

Technical indicators are mathematical calculations applied to a security's price, volume, or open interest data to generate signals about trend direction, momentum, volatility, and potential reversal points. They fall into two broad categories: leading indicators (such as RSI and Stochastic Oscillator) that attempt to predict future price moves, and lagging indicators (such as moving averages and MACD) that confirm trends already underway. Traders combine multiple indicators to build a more complete picture of market conditions, while avoiding over-reliance on any single signal.
