Bombday Stock Exchange (BSE) Q1FY26 Results

Indian markets opened lower on Friday, with IT and pharma stocks dragging. As of 9:27 a.m. IST, the Nifty 50 was down 0.18% at 24,550.05, while the BSE Sensex slipped 0.24% to 80,425.23.

On August 7, 2025, one of Asia’s oldest stock exchanges announced its Q1FY26 results. Details are as follows:

BSE Q1FY26 Results

BSE Ltd, among Asia’s oldest stock exchanges, announced its June quarter results post-market, posting a consolidated net profit of ₹538.1 crore, more than double the ₹264.3 crore recorded in the same period last year, reflecting a growth of 103.63%.

Revenue for the quarter rose 59% year-on-year to ₹958.4 crore, primarily driven by a jump in transaction charges, which climbed to ₹737.5 crore from ₹400.1 crore in Q1FY25 and ₹611.7 crore in Q4FY25. Revenue from services to corporates increased to ₹105.4 crore compared to ₹95.2 crore a year ago and ₹125.3 crore in the preceding quarter. Treasury income from clearing and settlement stood at ₹45.4 crore, slightly higher than ₹44.3 crore in March 2025 and ₹42 crore in June 2024.

Investment income was reported at ₹79.1 crore, up from ₹61.8 crore in the year-ago period and ₹70.3 crore in the previous quarter. For the first time, the exchange’s total income crossed the ₹1,000 crore milestone in a quarter, reaching ₹1,044.5 crore.

Consolidated EBITDA came in at ₹712 crore versus ₹348.5 crore in Q1FY25, while the consolidated net worth was at ₹4,961.7 crore compared to ₹3,566.5 crore in Q1FY25, with a jump of 39.11%.

Business Highlights of BSE

Equity cash performance: Average Daily Turnover of BSE Ltd in Q1FY26 stood at ₹7,180.1 crore, declining from ₹9,005.9 crore in Q1FY25, reflecting a drop of 20.28% year-on-year.

Transaction Charges Income fell to ₹54.5 crore in Q1FY26 compared to ₹75.5 crore in the same period last year, marking a decline of 27.81%.

Equity Derivatives – Performance

  • Average Daily Notional Turnover: ₹131 lakh crore in Q1FY26, up from ₹112 lakh crore in Q1FY25.
  • AD Premium Turnover: ₹15,083.8 crore in Q1FY26 compared to ₹11,782.7 crore in Q4FY25 (QoQ growth of 28.03%) and ₹7,161.7 crore in Q1FY25 (YoY growth of 110.55%).

BSE Share Price Jumps Over 2.5% in the Early Trade

On Friday share price of BSE surged over 2.51% in the early trade as the exchange announced its Q1FY26 results. As of 9:50 am IST, the stock price was trading at ₹2,402.60 per share, down by 1.62%. In the last 12 months, the stock price of BSE has given massive returns of 171%.
