Nifty Crosses 25,500, Sensex Soars 1,000 Points, Bank Nifty Hits New Record High
On Thursday, June 26, Indian benchmark indices closed the session in the green, extending their rally for the third consecutive session.
The Nifty 50 index surged by over 300 points to close above 25,500. The Nifty 50 marked its best closing of CY2025. Meanwhile, the Sensex jumped by 1,000 points, mirroring the Nifty 50’s performance. The Nifty 50 was lifted by heavyweight stocks like HDFC Bank and Bharti Airtel.
At the closing bell, the Nifty 50 climbed 304.25 points, or 1.21%, to end at 25,549.00. The Sensex surged by 1,000.36 points, or 1.21%, to close at 83,755.87.
The Bank Nifty rose by 585.55 points to hit a fresh record high of 57,206.70.
Out of the 11 key sectoral indices, only 3 ended in negative territory. Meanwhile, broader indices like Smallcaps and Midcaps also closed in the green, however, they underperformed the frontline gauge.

Talking about the sectoral indices, the Nifty Metal index surged by 2.31% on Thursday, with Adani Enterprises being the top contributor, gaining 2.09%. The Nifty Financial Services index rose by 1.53%, driven by the Bajaj twins, as Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv advanced by 2.53% and 2.08%, respectively.
