VST Tillers Tractors Limited was incorporated on December 18, 1967 in Bengaluru and began production in 1970, promoted by the VST Group in collaboration with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan. The company is a leading player in India’s agricultural mechanisation, focused on solutions for small and marginal farmers. Its portfolio spans 2 HP to 50 HP and includes power tillers, tractors, power weeders, brush cutters, implements, spares, electric pumps, aggregates, diesel engines and precision components, designed for use in orchards, vineyards, hilly terrains and varied farm conditions. VST has three manufacturing plants in India and a presence across more than 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. The company began exporting tillers to Africa in 1978, launched its EU-focused VST FIELDTRAC brand in 2016, and pioneered India’s first 4WD compact tractors in 1982 . Beyond agriculture, its precision components division caters to automotive, locomotive, defence, aerospace and global customers such as in the USA, UK and Germany. • Product milestones: Highest-ever monthly power tiller sales in March 2025 (7,221 units); highest annual sales for power weeders and power reapers (7,460 and 2,403 units). Production of the 16 HP Power Tiller with Electric Start commenced in Q4 FY 2024-25; a 5 HP “Made in India” weeder was launched.
• New launches and platforms: The VST Zetor tractor range was launched in May 2024, alongside Stage-V compliant models and new 30 HP and upcoming 35 HP variants for international markets.
• Technology and R&D: VST will introduce electric power tillers and power weeders in FY 2025-26. A Global Tech Centre is being established in Hosur with a phased investment of around Rs 100 Crores to focus on electric powertrains, battery technologies and enhanced testing/validation capabilities .
• International expansion: The company expanded to Cyprus, Russia, Czech Republic, Angola and Mali, and is preparing a North American entry through subsidiaries, targeting a US launch in 2027 with multiple models and variants.
