About the Company

 

Lloyds Metals and Energy Limited (LMEL) is an integrated iron ore and metals company with operations anchored in Maharashtra. Its flagship iron ore mine is at Surjagarh village, Gadchiroli district, supported by DRI (sponge iron) and captive power facilities at Ghugus (Chandrapur district) and Konsari (Gadchiroli district) . The Company’s existing iron ore capacity is 10 MNT, with planned expansion to 25 MNT and a beneficiation throughput of 45 MNT. It is also progressing a 1.2 MNT wire rod mill and a 3 MNT HR coils facility, alongside slurry pipelines of 85 kms and 195 kms to strengthen logistics integration . LMEL’s mine holds JORC-compliant proven reserves of 863 MNT (DSO 157 MNT; BHQ 706 MNT) with the mine lease valid till 2057 . The Company operates across India and, during the year, shipped its first export order, expanding its reach beyond India . This Integrated Report and Annual Accounts mark LMEL’s 48th year . LMEL has three subsidiaries; the Integrated Report covers these within its reporting boundary . Key milestones in FY 2024-25 included an MDO acquisition, completion of laying an 85 kms slurry pipeline (awaiting commissioning), highest-ever sponge iron production of 3,08,243 tonnes, and 9.46 MNT iron ore despatches, with mobilisation to despatch up to 25 MNT . The Company also reported an enhanced long-term issuer rating by India Ratings during the year .
