Cummins India Limited (CIL) is a group of complementary business units that design, manufacture, distribute and service engines, generator sets and related technologies. Founded in 1962 and headquartered at the Cummins India Office Campus in Pune, the company operates four world-class factories and one parts distribution center, supported by 450+ 4S service touchpoints, 116 on-highway 2S dealerships and four battery dealerships across India. CIL serves India, Bhutan and Nepal and exports to global markets including the USA, Europe, Mexico, Africa, the Middle East and China, reflecting its role as a major supplier in international power markets .
In FY 2024–25, CIL launched four solutions that expand its offerings across product and service lines: Power Management Solutions (PMS) for power quality and IoT-enabled monitoring; Cummins Retrofit Aftertreatment System (RAS) to control particulate emissions from gensets (NGT-compliant and ARAI-certified under 800 kW); OptiNAS+ Hydraulic Filter for enhanced equipment longevity; and DGBLUE Diesel Exhaust Fluid designed for Cummins CPCBIV+ gensets to reduce NOx emissions and meet ISO standards. Core products and services span internal combustion engines, gensets, parts and accessories, and lifecycle services delivered through a nationwide channel network .
CIL reports two operating segments: Engines and Lubes. The Engines segment includes Cummins India Limited and other Group companies, while Lubes comprises the 50:50 joint venture Valvoline Cummins Private Limited (accounted for under the equity method).
Industries served include Power Generation, Railways, Marine, Construction and Compressor, Oil and Gas, Defence, Mining, and Pumps. Highlights in FY 2024–25 included propulsion packages and emission-compliant diesel alternator sets for Railways; highest-ever marine sales supported by government and commercial orders; advanced electronic engines for construction segments; gas compression engines for city gas distribution; new orders in defence applications; strengthened presence in heavy earth moving machinery for mining; and expanded, certified engine ratings in pumps .
Revenue by Geography (FY 2024–25): Domestic sales were ₹8,395 crore and export sales were ₹1,771 crore . Revenue by Industry Vertical: turnover composition by product was 57% internal combustion engines, 23% parts/accessories and 15% generators/gensets .

– Strategic portfolio and launches: CIL delivered 23,000+ CPCBIV+ gensets (25,000+ generator sets sold) providing 7,000+ MW across India, launched high horsepower offerings (including CAQM regulation-compliant products ≥1000 kVA, a 2000 kVA Prime rating with improved power density, and a 2500 kVA DCC rating for data centers), and executed orders for a large hyperscale data center in India. The GOEM dealer network expanded to 117 in FY 2024–25 .
– Distribution solutions: The company introduced PMS, RAS, OptiNAS+ and DGBLUE to address power quality, emissions compliance, hydraulic filtration and DEF requirements; RAS is ARAI-certified and NGT-compliant below 800 kW. The Distribution Business Unit also reported service milestones including a 90% Net Promoter Score and first orders in railway electrical maintenance, while advancing digital tools such as the OPTIMUS analytics dashboard for channel partners .
– Portfolio reshaping: CIL sold 100% of its stake in Cummins Sales & Service Private Limited (CSSPL) to PAL SVAM Power Solutions Private Limited, with CSSPL ceasing to be a wholly owned subsidiary effective April 1, 2025 .
